Manna on Main Street is a food pantry, soup kitchen and emergency financial aid provider. We partner with the community to fulfill our mission of ending hunger in the North Penn region. In Montgomery County, 26,600 people live below the poverty line; 2,800 in North Penn; and 1,300 in Lansdale (U.S. Census). Each day, Manna feeds and cares for a growing number of families in need. We are a welcome home for the poor, the hungry and those struggling in this region.
Our soup kitchen is open seven days a week, offering two nutritious meals each day, with lunch on Sunday. Volunteers serve meals restaurant style, allowing guests the opportunity to rest and connect with friends at the table. We serve about 2,000 meals each month and our table is often full.
Our food pantry has utilized a "Choice Model" for eight years and was recently named a flag agency by Philabundance Food Bank. Individuals and families who live within the North Penn region are eligible to shop for food. Our pantry operates like a small grocery store, allowing shoppers to select the foods that meet their dietary needs and preferences as much as possible. All food items are provided free of charge and friends are welcome to shop with us twice a month. Currently, more than 600 households have signed up to shop in our food pantry. We distribute an average of 9,000 lbs of food each month.
For families facing financial emergencies, Manna is a source of hope in tough times. Our emergency financial aid program assists households experiencing housing, utility or medical emergencies. All payments are made directly to the landlord or medical provider and are closely monitored by our Case Manager, Bookkeeper and Executive Director.
Through the support of this community, we are able to feed and care for the needy among us. Thank you for supporting Manna through food drives, financial donations and volunteer service! With your support, we believe that everyone might be fed.
